Former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young on Meet the Press

Basically said he pitied the white supremacists because he considers them forgotten Americans. Says they deserve better jobs and healthcare.

Said the black movement needs to stop going on feelings and start using their head.

Said the message should be to lift all Americans together.

Fascinating interview. Andrew Young had a lot of wisdom to share. One of his points near the end when asked about monuments was basically choose your battles carefully. He seems to recognize that blacks and whites have their history, and doesn't see it as a battle worth fighting. I think he would prefer to leave them be and work together to make communities grow and prosper. It accomplishes much more because you aren't tearing down one side's history and pissing them off to the point that they don't want to work together for the betterment of the city. In other words, pulling down statues is a divisive issue that harms economic growth and benefits no one.

Andrew has watched what has take. Place economically in Louisiana since the statute crap started. The economy is in a free fall.
