For years I have used the same phrase to explain Prog Motives

Progressivism seeks to replace American traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions.
Does everybody get that now ?
Progressivism is insatiable. It never sleeps. It is not, and has never been about achieving some kind of improvement on American Constitutionalism. It's about constant Marxist Cultural Agitprop and perpetuating the false notion that America is a despicable country and that Capitalism is a form of slavery.
It is and always has been about Identity Politics and Mob Rule originating with The French Revolution and Karl Marx. Cultural Marxism afflicts every aspect of life and has no inherent internal constraints. It is pervasive in every aspect of American life. It is constrained only by the hunger of the Mob on that particular day.
Pimp's First Postulate states that " Every American Institution drifts Leftward over time". We are seeing that today in a very in your face way that is meant to force Americans to separate into warring camps. But this is actually a minor symbolic display of a much larger collapse of the Popular Culture. This has been a 100 year project by The Left to replace America with something entirely inferior where Individual Liberty is replaced by lunatic-driven notions of Groupthink .
Today is like a holiday for The Left . Americans symbolically disrespecting America on foreign soil and here at home through one of our more unique American Institutions . But in reality it is just the tiny tip of a much larger iceberg. It's time to recognize the much larger and more important movement . The NFL is just a sideshow.

Godfather- it's been rather surreal to watch events conspire in such a way that I have gone from feeling like a voice in the wilderness, to average non- political people inherently understanding all this stuff. It's been very gratifying to see so many lightbulbs go off in America.

Even I were to accept him as correct (and I do at some level), how does abandoning classical liberal principles in favor of crass populism to combat progressivism make the situtaion any better?

You don't have to abandon Classical Liberalism. You want to exist on a philosophical plane, like a writer at National Review free of all the sausage making bullshite, knock yourself out. Others of us have made the decision that we have to get down in the mud with the Leftists while we still have a semblance of our culture remaining. It's the classic Idealist - Pragmatist struggle and I have declared for the pragmatists, considering the vile nature of the organizing Left. Say hi to Bill Kristol and David Frum for me.

There's no question about it. I work for a fortune 100 company that openly supports DACA and has no problem letting it's employees know about it. My employer endorses violating federal immigration laws! SMDH!

There is something special about America, really special. Is America perfect, no. Never will be.
There are those who despise what makes America special. They don't care how they destroy it, only that they do destroy it. You are correct, they never sleep. They create victims everywhere, divisiveness is the disease they spread. Many progressives know what they are doing, some are just tools.

For years I have referred to it as unraveling the American tapestry. Meaning anything that entails morality, honor, character, hard work, personal responsibility, individual charity, integrity, courage, religion. I am tired of forgiving the ignorant. We are now at war with an evil ideology and the ignorant people who are falling in line with them deserve no sympathy. I pity them, but am no longer granting them any slack. They are out to destroy everything that I love and respect.

But how can this message be communicated to the majority of people who don’t understand the cultural revolution around them as they participate in the revolution unbeknownst to themselves? If you describe the situation to them they label you as a conspiracy theorist and then tune you out. It’s too much of a deep thought for most people.
BTW, Andrew Breitbart sole goal was to destroy this cultural Marxism you describe here including the media that promotes it.
