Dems started running attack ads against Rick Scott. What's the problem? They are the same attack ads they used four years ago and lost the race.

Basically Scott's company was charged with medicare fraud and paid a huge fine. He took the fifth on the stand.

The difference in the ad is four years ago the ad ended with "and now he wants to be our governor" and now it ends with "and now he's our governor"

Do they really have nothing else to attack him on?

I don't know enough about his record but nothing in the past four years can be attacked?

Too funny if you live in Florida.

Most places with Republican governors are doing well. So, no, they don't really have anything to attack him on.

As bad as the R brand is right now, outside of their very safe areas, the D brand is waning - of course a lot of the Rs are just retaking what they lost in the bloodbath of 2006 and 2008.

Of course. Any politician is safe with white collar crimes. Hell, look at Obama before he became a senator.

Either way, just thought it was pretty funny they are doing the same thing that lost them the race last time.

He adopted a shelter dog during the last campaign and got some pub out of the deal, allegedly he took the dog back to the shelter.

I'm pretty sure he fessed up to that. The dog was, apparently, a bad personality fit with the family. They have another rescue lab now - if that makes you think any more or less of him.

I'm not going to deny that virtually all statewide and national candidates do things like this for publicity.

Are we talking about this because he's done such a good job as governor that these are the only negatives the left can find?

Or because the national Dem message of more taxes, more spending, more entitlement benefits, more abortions and fewer guns just doesn't sell well in Florida?

No, I'm a dog person and that is a shitty thing to do, just that simple.

They rescued the dog. It didn't work out. They took it back and rescued another dog. I'm not defending the use of the dog for publicity, but their actions vis-a-vis the dogs appear okay to me.

(I'm a dog person, too.)

I'm sure there are still Dems who think that Romney's dog riding on the roof of the Family Truckster was a key piece to Obama's re-election.

As opposed to, say, Team Romney fricking up their GOTV efforts with the FailWhale that was ORCA or the IRS targeting Tea Party groups.

Why?

I'm a dog person too. I volunteer at a no kill shelter from time to time and "foster" dogs from that shelter when storms are approaching, etc. Thus, I think my bona fides are established.

I am unsure why you think it is so "shitty" to return a dog to a shelter IF said dog did not work out with the family.

I am thankful that it doesn't happen often with the shelter I support. However, it is certainly not "rare". and, it is a reasonable thing to do.

A personality conflict with a dog? I suppose I have been very fortunate in my life to have had personality compatibility with all my dogs.

Rescue dogs are in all sorts of bad shape, emotionally. The report was, the dog, "Reagan", was an aggressive barker. I do not know how long between his return and their adoption of another rescue lab, "Tallee", but that is what was put out.

NY Daily News story

If you're arguing for replacing this guy, I think you need something else - he seems to have done a good job for Florida. Shame on him for being a publicity "hound" - but you may be "barking" up the wrong tree on this one, Lakeboy.

Perhaps, you can come to grips that your own personal anecdotes and experiences are NOT the bar setter for the entire populace.

I do not demand that others see things my way and match up to my experiences. Nor do i demean those that have differing views and experiences.

Just give that a try and see if it works for you
