Every single reason why red states don't behave conservatively is because of the federal funding poison trap, all these states are hooked to.

We can't even bid state or county construction projects hardly anymore, because they all have federal funding tied to them now through the infrastructure act, etc. with Union, PW, requirements requirements we can't meet. Even though I am in a right to work state, the Democrat governor Beshear has schemed ways to skirt around that by creating loopholes, requiring certain trade or training programs that can only be obtained in a Union shop.

So the scam is that we all have to pay into these federal boondoggles, with the promise that the money will then come back in and stimulate growth and the economy. But in reality, it just benefits their friends, and not the poor saps stuck paying the bill who get nothing out of it.

The damage wrought by FDR, et al and SCOTUS in the first four decades of the 20th Century is to blame for basically all of this.

The FedGov genie will never go back in the bottle.

Been like this for decades and it gets worse every year.

The feds influence your local police, sheriffs, city and county governments, etc due to this funding as well.

The most blatant example that opened my eyes to this game decades ago was states either raised their legal drinking age to 21 or lost fed highway funding.

Same with schools (k-graduate studies), hospitals and other medicals facilities, and even Churches with tax exempt threats.

The Federal leviathan is evil, powerful, and tyrannical.

The insidious grip of government control of every aspect of our lives. the general public quickly falls in line with the misbelief that they can’t live without it and then demand their state leadership to get in line for those federal $$. JBE’s governorship was all about getting those federal dollars

It boggles my mind that Congressmen from both red and commie states don't fight to return from control to their home states .

And now they're going to force states to enact red flag laws.

Parents help their kid buy their first car and then hold the use of that car over the kid's head as a form of control. It's the same thing everywhere, if you're giving money you expect some control. Universal concept.
UNLESS you're a taxpayer and expect to have any control over the government's behavior... then that universal concept is tossed right out the fricking window.
In fact, if you object to the government's behavior they'll put you on lists, possibly investigate you, use proxies you paid for to call you extremists and gaslight you..
And if you decide not to give them your money.. well.. It's not your money Buddy, it's theirs, and they'll arrest you.
