Largely from the web. Facebook announced it will be using 4 groups to verify news on its site. All of those groups are left leaning, which I know comes as a shock.

Sort of a version of the fairness doctrine idea to shut up opposition.

They're going all out on this fake news nonssense, but truth is truth. If alternative media reports facts there's nothing the MSM can do to spin it as fake news. MSM/the left is trying to create an issue that doesn't exist.

Exactly. The left is absolutely shaking in their shoes that they no longer control the narrative through their liberal progressive controlled media.

You're exactly right. It's an effort to delegitimize all alternative media and lump in all non-mainstream media with actual bogus news.

They realized how much power alternative news sources on the web had this election and this is an effort to try to nullify their effectiveness by destroying their credibility. Just as they try to do with any individual that goes against them. They try to destroy that person's credibility by labeling him racist, sexist, etc.

Hopefully people see right through their nonsense.

So much easier to label something fake news than engage and debate an issue.

They are literally killing their own party by refusing to even discuss topics without having full blown tantrums. Now they simply want to end the debate.

Snowflakes with safety pins. What a fracking joke.

Yeah - they want Breitbart and Redstate to be considered the same as Infowars, but they want MSNBC to be "almost" in the same league as the BBC and so forth.

Laughable on its face.

Well, some of the "alternative media" is nothing other than sociopaths writing fiction on the internet. Should we differentiate between truth and fiction? Why not?

Figure it out yourself if it's true or not. Maybe if we didn't have so many idiots in society and were instead filled with people who heard and read everything with skepticism we'd be better off in this country.

Another way to keep the herd in the mainstream bubble.

Unfortunately the fake news is often fake -- just like most of what Alex Jones is half-truth 'gatekeeper', 'trap door' stuff.

It's a new layer of shite to keep people from getting into more real things.

And who makes said determination. You liberals believe 100% of Fox news is fiction.

If your side is too stupid to determine fact from fiction then too fracking bad.

But, the reality is that Hillary lost because she was a corrupt crappy candidate who didn't have the health to campaign at the same level as Trump.

Not Russians. Not Fake News. She was a crappy candidate. Not too mention Obama destroyed the country for 8 years which made some middle of the road moderates want to lean in a different direction.

Censorship of alternative media so that the largely discredited and dishonest MSM can project influence a little longer.

For example: there's 0 evidence of Russians hijacking the election. If CNN and the DNC can silence anyone in the media that would challenge the baseless assertion that Russians hijacked the election, they can influence public opinion and undermine the legitimacy of a president that they don't like.

You realize 'fake news' in the true definition refers to stories that are blatantly false, and usually written by liberals because it easily incites conservatives and they run with it?

I've seen several of these posted on here, only to be quickly debunked as completely false.

Facebook can do whatever they want to with their business.

That being said, they should leave it to people to believe whatever they want to believe.
