August is the driest month on record for Louisiana....
Here in Monroe we have shattered records two years in a row.
The average rainfall in Louisiana for August is around 3.14 inches. We have had over 5 in the last 5 days. Downpours.
Sure, let us not call it "Man Made" Global Warming because it isn't, but it is climate change. Not caused by man, but nature. It is real and our legislators have absolutely been jawing for years and done nothing--next to nothing---about it. Now they want a big tax for better pumps and drainage. Freak em'.. People like myself can fend for ourselves and our homes. Those who are too naive or dumb to observe what is happening in our state do not deserve our dime. Century Tel here in town is pushing for this major tax increase. NO, if they want better drainage and pumps they can pay for it themselves. You built your infrastructure on a swamp and now you are about to pay for it.
It is absolutely raining the heavens here as I speak and has been like this for the last 5 days.
Louisiana won't exist in 10 years as it does now. People will be forced off the coast and low-lying areas in North Louisiana as there will be no frugal way to live here unless you are a survivalist minded person.
I have never seen it rain this much ever over the last few years. Monroe will flood before the end of the week next week. West Monroe possibly too.

Some things are the responsibility of local governments, some are the responsibility of the federal government.

Monroe is built in a flood plain. The flood plain has been filled in around Town and Country and Frenchmens Bend. Monroe has flooded in the past and will flood in the future.
It's not global warming. It is what happens when you build on a flood plain.
Periodic flooding is normal has occurred since Monroe was there and will continue.

Says nothing factual ever.
August is on avg the 3rd or 4th highest precipitation of the year you moron.
Summer pattern rains have been a norm for put climate for a very long time.

I'll admit, I was paying a lot of attention to North Korea but this:
really puts it in perspective for me.

About to drop another 5 inches in the next hour or so.
Laugh all you want. Today alone we are looking at over 5 inches of rain in my area. Check the radar yourself. We had two heavy thunderstorms already today.
