Hobby Lobby should have been a 9-0 decision. It was never a case about women's rights. It was a question of forced payment for service.

I 10000% agree with this.

I was trying to explain this to my liberal professor and classmates yesterday and they would not understand.

They kept saying "It gives corporations the freedom to do whatever they want! What if they say it's against their religion to not employ women, now they can use this as precedent to fire women and gays!! WHat about the 'pray away the illness' people?! Now they'll be able to make the government subsidize things!!!

To which i replied, this is an issue of a privately owned company being free from government intrusion into their business. The government cannot and should not control the innerworkings of a private business.

They replied: Hobby Lobby is huge! It's not mom and pop, what about small towns where there is no alternative employment!! (I have no idea where the hobby lobby towns are, but w/e)

Now these people are huge supporters of Obamacare, so i said they should be excited about this opinion since the solution will most likely be that the government will not be forced to pick up the bill on what companies don't cover.

Discussing cases in that class is like beating my head against a brick wall. No one wants to see the whole issue, they only want to yell at me for hating women and wanting to destroy women's right or something. It's a private v government issue, not a women's rights or religion issue.
