We all know that men are paid more than women becomes companies are sexist bastards. So, who do we turn to for solving the problem? Govt!!
So, your govt has passed a law that employers cannot ask an applicant what their prior salary was. Problem solved.
In the meantime the more important question is 'Would you hit it?"

Equal doesn't mean that women would be paid more, but maybe the men would be asked to take a pay cut. Women would still be making the same, so you have to watch what you ask for because you just might get it.

Women across the board don't get paid as much because of the kinds of jobs they do. The average oilfield baw makes way more than an office cubicle jockey. The same goes for plumbers, electricians, merchant marines, etc.
