"Deep State" can be somewhat of an instinct for survival. Autonomic reaction like "fight or flight". A survival instinct that can be relied upon to protect the status quo, and in doing so, protect their own gravy train and power. They may not even believe their own reasoning's for opposition..they just know they must resist change.

I think WaPo made up the SIGNIFICANCE of the Trump obstruction story.
Mueller met with Burr and Warner today and discussed interviewing Coats.
Here is the whole story here but WaPo et al will continue with the sensationalized headline.
CNN just broke with it. It is no big deal but WaPo et al will define it as OBSTRUCTION.
