No he didn't. He said if there are tapes, Trump needs to make sure nothing happens to them. He didn't say Trump destroyed them.

Why would any American not want to know whether either the president or the FBI director he fired was lying? Comey's been under oath. I'd want to know if he has perjured himself.

Its pretty clear based on the timeline and Comey's testimony he told a boldface lie today. The "tapes" tweet was most likely a response from Trump after he got wind that Comey had already been given to the NYT. The "leaking" was the memo given prior NOT after as Comey indicated.

I'm going to be honest I've never understood the implication of the tapes comment. What type of conversation are we supposed to think President Trump could have tapes of? Anybody wanna help me out?
