I had forgotten that Sam Beckett encountered Fred Trump and his young son Donald in 1958, during season four of Quantum Leap (1992).
Did a random comment from Sam inspire Donald to build Trump Tower decades later? Would Donald have become President, without Sam and Al?

Quantum Leap was my favorite show. I missed some seasons as I went overseas.
That jackass late night guy did a clip on this, angered that the term Mr. Trump was used and that this contributed to President Trump. It was not comedic it was hate.

In the QL episode, the "Mr. Trump" line was spoken by a doorman opening the cab door and speaking to the father, Fred Trump.
Did some genius think they were speaking to the 12yo character and calling him "Mr. Trump?"

No, you will have to go watch the Cobert show late night clip to find out the possible two faceted meaning. It is not comical it is hateful, so I don't really care about arguing semantics of the intent.
IIRC: One of the late night talk show hosts was nearly cancelled for touching Trump's hair and "humanizing' him.
