We have know this since 2001. Why we are still there is a complete joke and an insult to those risking (and losing) their lives there.
We are in the same spot now as 2001 with no strategy for complete victory. How long will it take for the Afghan government to become self reliant? Another 10 years? Another 20?

Yeah. It became real obvious especially during the bin Laden raid in 2011. Bad thing is that Pakistan has nukes. Fortunately not nukes that can pose a threat to US soil, but still a damning thing regardless. I'd rather not go to war with them, but I know India would love to lol.

DoD Report: China may have played a role in Vietnam war

This has been well known for a while. The Taliban is the instrument ISI uses to control Pashtun nationalism as well as extremists.

Yeah. I mean, we killed Osama in the back yard of the West Point of Pakistan.

Yep.
As much as we don't want to do it, we have to start treating the Taliban as a legitimate political party.

Good point. The Taliban is just another branch of Sunni Wahhabism. They took the extremist Saudi Sharia Law and made it the law of the land. They just lack the Saudi's oil and wealth to be recognized as a legit government.

US needs to pull out so that India can take care of business.

Hahaha. I'm not saying I disagree with you, but the crowning achievement of the war on terror was the overthrow of the Afghan government in about 3 or 4 weeks. Now we are back to admitting that wasn't a great idea.
