its clear she just needs to get laid, she should try that first

beyond that, it should be her choice so i see no problem at all with this, its better and less messy then her stepping in front of a bus or jumping off a building

Exactly, girl needs a biological and psychological reset. Everyone needs a purpose, even if that purpose is survival. Id hypothesize that if this girl fasted for 7 days, her depression would be cured. When you are hungry, all those negative thoughts take a back seat

She's not married then, huh?

Maybe get off birth control, there's been more and more studies about the negative/depressive effects.

I know a woman who was single and miserable. She got married and pumped out a couple of kids fulfilling her natural cosmic role, and is now as happy as I've ever seen her.

If a psych ever says “there is nothing else we can do for you”, they are either lying or a shitty psych.

More likely, the Dutch don’t want to pop for different antidepressants which are more expensive so they would rather euthanize her.

I think she should be free to make this choice if she is:
A. an adult, mentally competent enough to do so
B. has her financial affairs in order and not leaving debt for relatives or for medical facilities to eat
C. has her own arrangements for burial made and paid for as well as transfer of personal property, etc.
D. has legally binding documentation that protects others from potential legal liability
E. is not leaving behind children dependent on her or her income for care.

I'm sure I can think of others

“You have chosen ‘slow and painful.’”

Death by Snu Snu apparently isn’t on the list.

This topic is like the mini version of abortion, much more of a palatable mortality play. The depression does change things more than autism, but, while I think they should be permitted to kill themselves, I do think it's a somewhat weak justification.

If you have some terminal illness or a painful condition with no cure, then that's when I really start to support the choice.

Agree with all points.

Canada has similar practices. First - it was terminally ill patients were allowed assisted
suicide.

Second - was mentally ill people.

Most recently - people living in poverty.

The bill is currently on hold but not due to the moral issue, but rather to allow time for the hospitals too expand their assisted suicide capabilities. Remember, in Canada the health care system is provided and operated by the state.

Crazy progressives have no base, no foundational/subjective right or wrong, nothing binding them to a higher moral standard.
Without those standards or boundaries, there's
nothing is out of the question.
The same ideology is in America and would love to control us all.

The title indicates she's being euthanized against her will and the reason is autism...it should more accurately read:

"Depressed, autistic woman is electing to be euthanized in the Netherlands"

No it doesn't. Neither is an acceptable excuse to help someone kill themselves.

Agreed. We're too Institutionalized these days and need that reconnection with nature itself.

That's basically her reasoning.

She made the decision to self-terminate when her mental health providers told her that had done everything they could for her and did not expect her condition to improve.

Her pain isn't physical, but...

She is free to choose.

But doing so because a doc said there is no possible improvement to her depression is horseshite. It is the government saying “save us the cost of treating you.”
