They (or "we") will never be there. There's no there there.
ETA: not to mention that MLK's vision was largely crowded by prostitutes

Obama, his surrogates, and the left set us back in a big way in dividing the country racially.
However, I would love to know what the destination is and the benchmark Doc and others feel we must hit to get there?

The Left will never allow the country to get "there". They can't. Constant division and hatred is all they have now. They will drive these points home like never before now.
Obama and his ilk proved they do not want anything having to do with unity. If they did, their party would really cease to exist.

I think we're mostly there. Racism (from whites towards blacks) isn't anywhere near what it was in the 60's and earlier. What we see now is the opposite, where blacks are wanting their own segregated spaces, not wanting to work with whites, and division being pushed by those on the black "side". Whites are the ones changing actions and vocabulary to try to stave off accusations of racism.
In order to get where Dr. King wanted, we need all people groups to be on the same page.

The AAs are listening to the wrong people.
Don't listen to deray(BLM)/Jesse/most of the black Caucus
Listen to people like mlkIII/Alveda and other level headed folks who don't want to screw you over and have a positive message.

"As Doc Rivers, a man who made millions playing the sport of basketball, and whose son makes millions also playing the sport of basketball, looks out of his $5 million mansion entry window, he contemplates the oppression he and his son (who came from the private Duke University) overcame to get to the position they're now in."

Race hustling to fear monger people into supporting various political action/candidates will never die

So he's a coach of the LAC and a former player, his son is a current player yet they haven't "arrived"?
