After years of drought, this winter finally brought relief to California as storm after storm walloped the state, leaving it drenched with rain at lower elevations and covered in snow in the mountains.
While there certainly was a seasonal downside -- including flooding and concerns that a dam might fail at Lake Oroville -- residents are heartened by the highest snowpack level since 2011.
Oh how the times have changed.

"California winters are very changeable. You can go like we (had) two years ago, driest on record, to this year flirting for a while with maximum on record," said Frank Gehrke, chief of the California Cooperative Snow Surveys program for the Department of Water Resources. "Right now, we are looking at probably around 160% of average for this time of the year."
If liberals in California were smart they would realize that it might be a good idea to improve Ca's infrastructure so that they didn't have to worry about it failing and they would be able to store that extra water to use during draught years.

But does Bill Nye remember saying this?
Guess not.
quote:
"And in the case of the California drought, a recent study suggests that there is 95 percent confident that human-caused climate change tripled the chance of the development of a persistent high pressure system in the Northern Pacific Ocean, which is the cause of the California drought because it deflects precipitation away from the region."
Guess not.

When it doesn't rain in a locality: climate change
When it rains in a locality: we can't focus only on specific regions
When poor conditions persist: climate change
When poor conditions abate: climate change

so where is this thread suppose to go?
There is no such thing as climate change.
or
There is such thing as climate change but humans aren't at fault.
or
There is such thing as climate change and humans are exacerbating the problem.
or
There such thing as human influenced climate change but there is nothing reasonable we can do to stop it.

the fact is weather patterns fluctuate over time. Storm systems in general are unpredictable. Whether you believe in AGW or not, shouldn't drive you to blame every year over year weather change as climate change.
