Divided vs. United Country...

I keep hearing from the left, especially over this past year, that we are more divided than ever as a country. Racially, morally, and politically, the chasm has become wider over the past few years. I have one question for any liberal that thinks this way:

Why hasn't President Obama united us in the nearly eight years since he's been in office? I thought he was the poster child of unity and brotherhood. Instead blacks, whites, and Hispanics have been at each other's throats. Now that Trump has been elected president, he has become the responsible party for this divide. When it comes to racism, bigotry, and unsubstantiated hate, liberals need to remove the planks from their own eyes before judging the specks in the eyes of conservatives. End rant.
