At this point who the hell is dumb enough to believe a story that says "sources say..........." anywhere in it?
Posted on 6/16/17 at 11:19 am to MButterfly
So no source cited.
Pretty ironic that, just today, Rosenstien cautioned everyone not to trust anonymous sources.

Yeah he can.

Except for one glaring fact...
Comey, UNDER OATH, stated Trump was no under investigation.

See how seamlessly this charade went from the campaign people to Trump himself.

pretty much everyone with a brain knew this when it was announced, and even rosenstein said he very well might have to.
I bet that rosenstein would be quite happy to recuse himself and not have to deal with this bullshite.

He issued it late last night which was weird. If the story was brought to The Hill (a fairly legit news organization), they almost certainly reached out to him for comment before running the story. That may explain the release last night.

Trump replacing liberal Rosenstein
Meh. Rod isn't right or left, particularly. He's a prosecutor. He worked for Ken Starr on Whitewater. He's a Republican, albeit a Philly one. I'm not saying he's a Scalia acolyte, but he's got more in common with Rudy Giuliani than he does to even Arlen Specter.
I'll just leave it at that.

Yall keep forgetting the salient portion of the law. The person must have INTENT to obstruct, and it must be a corrupt attempt.
The President has the legal authority to end any criminal investigaton by the Justice Department. It is ONLY obstruction if he corruptly does it, Meaning he takes a cash payment from someone to quash an investigation into them or whatever. That would be illegal.
Simply saying " I think this buy's been through enough end this investigation" is not corruption.
Without corruption you can not have obstruction

Rosenstein's word was good enough for Trump's initial (of 4) reasons for firing Comey.

Doesn't matter if I'm innocent of the original crime.
Reminds me of the man who escaped from prison and while on the run it was proven he didn't commit the crime for which he was convicted.
They then convicted him of escape and sentenced him.

I mean... seriously it's just it's taking ridiculous to a whole new level...
I feel like we are watching the nations gov devolve into a chaotic circus and will allow something like a dictator or military coup to take over...
They just can't seem to function anymore.
I'm not sure if you're one of them, but a lot of Trump supporters wanted a scorched Earth approach to DC government.
To paraphrase Daryl Davis, Trump is going to show us the way forward, that may be due to his success or his failure, but we're going to see what path to take as a nation.

The republicans recuse themselves like such wussies. The democrats never recuse.
I think we need to recuse all of DC but a select few.

Why shouldn't they have convicted him? He didn't follow the law. Your vindication comes in court, not on the lam.

True. Only problem is that's not what Trump did
I'm not arguing what he did or did not do.
Only demonstrating that the logic of "innocence of the first" does not ensure "innocence of the second"

Because he had the balls not to accept their corrupt verdict.

Good luck if you ever find yourself having to fight off trumped up charges.

Nope.

The crime of obstruction of justice, in United States jurisdictions, refers to the crime of obstructing prosecutors or other (usually government) officials. Common law jurisdictions other than the United States tend to use the wider offense of perverting the course of justice.
