So when Mueller clears Trump... then where do they turn?

Democrats Warn Trump Congress Will ‘Begin Impeachment Proceedings’ If He Fires Mueller, Rosenstein
quote:
“All Americans, regardless of party, agree on the fundamental principle that no one is above the law,” Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) told MSNBC Friday. “And if President Trump were to fire Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, and then [get] special counsel Mueller fired, I believe Congress would begin impeachment proceedings.”
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) echoed Lieu’s sentiments, saying that Congress would come together to make sure they overrule Trump’s authority on the matter.
“Congress will not allow the president to so egregiously overstep his authority,” Schiff said in a statement.

Impeachment proceedings for what charge?

Not sure. They were calling for his impeachment since before he actually took office.
WaPo called for his execution for treason.

The Repubs should request a special prosecutor for Hillary and the Foundation. They would make this go away, but they are in on it as well.

They don't have the balls for it

This is the obvious argument for letting an SC go on. Prosecutorial/political overreach in Whitewater/Lewinski affair ultimately brought down Newt Gingrich instead of Bill Clinton.

Lieu sits on House Judiciary Committee. That's where impeachment action against a President gets serious.

Trump has the authority to fire anyone he wants in the executive branch. These idiots don't know how our government works.

If Trump were a dem, Republicans would have started impeachment hearings based purely on publicly available information, they'd be justified in doing so, and you would be cheering them on.
But if you're so sure Mueller is going to clear Trump, then good, you should have no problem with dems warning Trump not to fire him in a desperate attempt to cover his arse.

And congress has the right to impeach a sitting president for abuse of power and corruption. That is also how our government works.
Now whether they have the ability to turn that threat into anything more then a threat and not have it brushed aside by the Republicans, that seems doubtful.

Whatever the Democrats or congress think fits the bill.
That is the thing with our constitution, it is intentionally broad and largely outside the criminal courts in how a person of public office is removed. Republicans should know this pretty well with Bill Clinton. Who was charged with abuse of power and obstruction of justice....Though Newt managed to forget that recently so my guess is others will as well.
It has also historically been very difficult to remove a person from office through this method. Good chance it never happens with Trump, even if it becomes beyond clear he is abusing his power and attempting to obstruct the investigation.

I just wish that Congress had likewise worried about the president over stepping his authority for the last 30 years.
