Too bad a significant majority of the rest of the framers disagree with him. There's a reason why the 18th century was amongst the least religious periods in this country's history.

Again it doesn't matter if the other founders disagreed with this statement or if Adams himself believed this statement, it wouldn't change the merit of the statement nor would it change just how prophetic the statement turned out to be. Truth isn't any lest truth based on my belief in it.

The Founding Fathers Rejected Democracy

Can anyone recommend a book on this point? Specifically this and democracy vs a republic from the Framer's point of view. I'm sure there's some good commentary out there somewhere.

Healthcare is a service all Americans deserve

Please let me expand and clarify this J: "healthcare is a service that all Americans deserve, but"...some have to pay for it and some don't, regardless of how their personal behavior affects the costs therein". And in your mind, that would be fair? You really ought to take the word "deserve"...and think it over. I always assumed that 'deserve' was related to merit, justice or a fair shake. Like in Zack Mettenberger DESERVED to be our QB last year. Times change I reckon. Oh well.

People won't want to hear my solution, but I think it goes way beyond the surface issues and boils down to a mater of the heart. People have lost their way spiritually and because of it, their hearts are consumed with hedonistic endeavors instead of the common good. All types of new legislation can be passed, but unless people's hearts are changed, the results will be the same.

Dont blame the founders. They had it right. Only male landowners could vote then.
