....months ago. Does this not alarm anyone else other than me? What a perfect way to deflect attention from the mid term elections. There always seems to be a crisis/scandal pop up at just the perfect times.

In all fairness, this ebola thing happens every 4 years or so.
edit: I guess all of those could be a conspiracy.

Read the article though, these specific claims have never been made.

Well, I'm not quite sure how helpful it would be for the Democrats for the President to be presiding over a full blown Ebola outbreak a couple of weeks before the elections.

Well who said it would be a "full blown outbreak"? The "illusion" of one would definitely create panic which in turn would stifle voter turnout (predominantly republican turnout since they tend to follow things like this closer compared to the Obama-bots). Who wants to take a chance and go to the polls and vote where tons of people spread germs in the booths.
I'm just saying I wouldn't put it past them. If the article (from Canada btw) holds any merit then the fact that they the gov can "predict" and "prepare" for an outbreak in an upcoming month is enough to begin the assumption that there is a larger plan at work here. The only way they can they predict an outbreak in a specific month is if they are the ones actually manipulating it.

so without reading the article are you saying that there is now an epidemic around election time? If so, not surprising.

That's just my personal opinion but what I'm really trying to get some feedback on is the following paragraph from the article:
quote:
A public tweet from a large government supplier of emergency response products specializing in “high risk events” says that Disaster Assistance Response Teams were told to prepare to be activated in the month of October. The shocking revelation, made on the Goldenstate Fire/EMS Twitter page, suggests that not only did someone know that the Ebola virus would be reaching America, but that they knew exactly when it would happen.

My son is an mechanical engineer who works in plastics manufacturing, in April of this year he consulted with a company that makes plastic products on a contract basis. They had just received a contract to produce 100,000 pairs of "ski goggles". I had remarked that, I didn't think there were enough skiers to consume that many pairs of goggles, when the Ebola thing started, and I saw the healthcare workers wearing ordinary ski goggles I wondered if there might be a connection. I don't wear a tin foil hat, or waste time with conspiracy theories, but this seems odd to me.

Didn't you hear?
DHS bought 102975092175092175089126589126892640872159725973268956439867320967094327609437609432756894376894327096767438650873426578 rounds of ammunition last month.
We're all doomed anyway!

Stupidest article ever....
How the frick do you weaponize Ebola? Goldmember type space rockets are coming to mind with huge sprinkler type arms spitting Ebola infected saliva around

They can deflect all they want. It won't help that hundreds of thousands will lose there insurance in November.

I put the chances of the November elections actually happening at 50/50 at this point
Posted on 10/10/14 at 7:23 am to CajunZ81
How could they expect there to randomly be an epidemic where the culprit is a virus that has been around forever and can only be spread by "bodily fluids"?

No offense but this is seriously inflammatory and irresponsible reporting.

I would imagine that when flu season hits hard it is likely that we could have quite a big problem. I'm not one for conspiracies but flu season could be completely out of control if people start getting isolated, etc.

Well of course, flu is always a ticking time bomb. The good thing is we are very prepared for the flu. The bad thing is, there is no changing how dangerous it is to the old, very young, and immune compromised.
