The optics are bad for Trump but who can deny Antifa trying to shut down free speech? Those supremacist are scum of the earth but to give Antifa a free pass is just as wrong. The media is saying, "this is a false equivalence".
It's not and as the President he can't condone violence on either side. The media is condoning violence by the alt left because White Supremacist have to be shut down at any cost and the constitution be damned.

Thing is Trump still hasn't taken a "side" as far as I can see. It's problematic even from my point of view because I have been the harshest critic on his statement on Saturday. Still, he has the obligation to call out Antifa as well.

The message could have been more eloquently delivered. Too much back ground noise in What he said. Example
"Neo Nazis and White supremicists are disgusting and have no place in our society. On the other side, you also have Antifa acting in an aggressive manner and playing a role in escalating the violence we saw on Saturday. Violence..even that against a message we disagree with, doesn't make it a noble cause and has no place in a civilized society."
It could have been cleaned up and stated in a way that allowed less room for media and lefties to insert their agenda.

Trump wants to gut the first amendment opening up the libel laws. Not a single frick was given around here when that was being talked about.

I'm not condoning antifa in anyway, violence is not a solution.
But let's not get carried away acting like we're some kind of bastions of liberty when we're glad to give up those freedoms when it's convenient. Sorry, I'm just not buying it, nobody gets to have it both ways.
