immigration laws are broken and Congress refuses to act???
The POTUS is charged with protecting the USA and the other half of the power strata refuses to fix the problem and does everything in its power to stop him from performing his duty.

The laws are full of loopholes that the aliens are taking advantage of - i.e. claiming 'refugee' or 'asylum' status and overwhelming the border police we have in place. Congress will not fix the loopholes, nor assist the Border Patrol in doing their job.

Sixth- Why did you use national emergency as a tactic to get around Congress and not realize that inevitably it will be used by the opposition, probably in a more effective manner after watching you do it AND having the media backing.
But seriously, they probably wont use it for climate change or guns. They will use it for another sympathetic purpose and then use the pressure from it to deal with other problems vicariously.
You are looking for a direct connection, but the truth is the Democrats will not use national emergency declaration DIRECTLY, they will use something else.

They were designed to stop him. 3 branches. Checks and balances. That's why he should have bitch slapped Paul Ryan.
That said, the Executive also has the authority to shut down the borders... period. ICE, etc is under the Executive branch. The stuff coming across the border is easily considered worthy of being shut down.
