Scrolling on Reddit and stumbled upon this post. What does the OT think about this theory?

New account so I don't get retaliated on. Plz know they are counting on us being too lazy to read this lol (tldr at bottom):

I work at an office that audits the state. We found clear, obvious evidence that the state is trying to give away 100M to his crony friends at Sullivan Group, but were suppressed from sharing the information. Here is a (not so) brief synopsis:

•The floods in Louisiana caused the state to be given 1.2B for recovery (Source: https://wgno.com/2016/12/23/a-billion-dollars-for-flood-recovery-coming-to-louisiana/)

•These funds are to be overseen by a contractor that verifies that homes were actually damaged and that construction is actually needed

•One contractor submitted a (not to get too technical) bombass conceptual plan. They also bid the lowest price (65M less than the next team, and 100M less than the 3rd place team aka Sullivan Group. More on them later)

•We suspect the selection committee that scores the proposals was rigged in Sullivan Group's favor, as the ppl who were supposed to be doing the selections were changed just days before the scoring session from highly technical people to political people (highly irregular)

•The remaining technical people scored the cheap/good company so highly in technical that the cheap/good company won despite the political people voting otherwise.

•A protest was filed that the original winner needed a builders license. All the builders on their team DO have the license, but the argument is that the tech company doing the project management should also have a builders license (??)

•Even though the protest seems absurd, the government chose Larry Bankston to rule on it. Larry Bankston is deeply connected to Sullivan Group (his son Ben is the regional manager for their local company, DRC!!) (source again: https://www.businessreport.com/article/protests-flood-recovery-contract-mounting-louisiana-cancel-rfp-start)

•Larry of course rules that yes the tech company should also have a builders license so the gov says nice lets delay things and re score everything.

•Now the government has put out a new request to score the team's proposals and we believe the mandate is in. Sullivan Group will win and walk away with their 100M dollar bounty

TL;DR : The state used Larry Bankston to rule something idiotic so they could give 100M more to their friends (and Larry Bankston's son) at Sullivan Group, instead of giving that money to homeowners with flood damage.
They'll probably find and fire me but wtv. I'm counting on you reddit, upvote and hold our politicians accountable. This 100M could plug our LSU budget shortfall

It was noted by another poster that the third company was SLS Construction (Sullivan Land Services)

I'm sure there are several companies/agencies that are benefiting from this situation.

Just like all the assholes that got rich off Katrina there will be a whole new crop of former juvenile delinquents driving lambos around BR after the flood clean up is all said and done.

Nothing new about corrupt Louisiana politicians. We put them in power so we have no one to blame but ourselves.

BP money never stood a chance in Louisiana. When it's all said and done, we will still not have a balanced budget, and will still have shrinking coastline.

If 100 acres of actual land is restored with this money I would be surprised. I have seen some of where these dollars are going to and it's ridiculous. Hundreds of miles from the coast

Politicians love disasters. Any one thing that can result in another "transaction" gets them richer.

Pisses me off, our company was part of the first winning bid, now we have to hope we win again which is looking doubtful

Hardly a conspiracy. It's happening right in the open

This isn't a conspiracy. It happens all the time. People would lose their minds if they knew how often companies who score the highest, lose bids to government cronies. Many times they lose to minority owned businesses too when they would be far better for the work.

Larry's been convicted before for corruption so no surprise he'd go down the same path.

I was wondering if it was the same Larry Bankston as the video poker scandal.

There has been hinky shite going on with hurricane/flood money for decades. There were 3 senior national guard officers under indictment for misappropriating funds right before Katrina hit.

Larry Bankston said he was unaware that his son's firm — which is not named in the bid package — had a relationship to any of the bidding companies when he wrote his opinion. He also noted that he provided the opinion in response to a request from a bidder — and not the bidder affiliated with his son’s firm.
