It could be. but the shooting is justifiable the moment he jerks around like that. Even though it's justifiable I am slightly suspicious that he was angry and shot him and even thought he could shoot him for running

If the suspect didn't turn around in such a way, I'd call this a murder

Never made that assertion, nor do I think it's required.

Not calling for utopia. Actually, what I want is already an established standard across the US. for everyone except cops.

I'm not your son and your claims don't impress me.

Your ignorance, belligerence, continued personal attacks, and use of foul language and sexual depravity are impressive though.

How does the standard for cops compare to the standards for soldiers in Iraq when dealing with assumed non-combatants?

This is the point we disagree on. Your "he jerked funny" is another person's "he had a bulge in his crotch" or another person's "he gave me the look".

Threats should be real. Not hypothetical.

It's lame to ignore his argument because you dislike his presentation.

You're a man, aren't you?

The "standard" for use of lethal force for the general public varies from state to state. Just as does the standard for LEO use of force.

In some states fleeing from a felony at night meets the requirements for use of lethal force by LEO.

Yeah you live in a world without nuance. When a cop reaches real fast or makes a sudden movement i don't get to assume he's going to extrajudicially terminate me

.. which is all the more reason for them to avoid these situations when they can do so without endangering anyone.

Does this include how people interact with LEOs?

Cops shoot an "unarmed" black man
Turn off car
Keys on dash
Hands on wheel
License in 1 hand
CC in the other

This was specifically asked in my CC class and the instructor said "not necessary" - He didn't even recommend it.

I just returned from a trip up to northern Colorado. I was wondering what to do if stopped = mention CC or not?

Varies greatly. The Soldier ROE has traditionally been if you fear for your life limb or eyesight, or another person's LLE you are good to go. But you have to have am actual justification for that fear.

Given the IQ, language, and cultural, differences between MEers and Americans, one could manufacture a murder out of a huge percentage of interactions. "he didn't follow orders, i feared for my life".

I've dealt with dozens or more "runners" and never had an outcome this fricking dumb. Because I know the difference between someone being an idiot and someone drawing a weapon to kill me. I'm looking for threats. I'm not imagining them. Sure. I could be wrong and a guy could throw a ninja star at me while running away, but that's part of the risks inherent in conducting Counter Insurgency. Deal wit it.

The reason soldiers didn't kill more civilians is this: locals will absolutely turn on you for abusing them and abusing claims to self defense. They will target and kill you. You must do everything in your power to show you aren't doing either.

I would not fidget around for it.

I would put two hands on the wheel, announce that I have a legal permit to carry and a firearm in the vehicle (don't say gun) and ask what he would like you to do next. Let him get comfortable with the gun existing and decide how to proceed. They all have been trained on how to interact with you from there.

Yes Im a man.

And resorting to a tongue in cheek gross exageration does nothing to bolster his argument.

Antagonistically insulting others or resorting to vulgarity is a sign of a poor basis of argument.

I clearly have not ignored his opinion. In fact, I have posted corrections to his wide reaching false claims.

MrCarton, if this officer had been an US soldier in a foreign country and the dead man a civilian with the same video what would the result have been.

I'm not sure how this at all relevant.
