What is the exact hypocrisy that you are referencing?

In her opinion the president should just quit being president and Congress should quit doing their jobs every election year?

Well she won't get a chance to vote for the next nominee then because she won't be in the senate by January.

She's leaving a window for herself to vote to confirm on the way out between the election and inauguration if Trump wins.

Collins will not be in the Senate after January 3, 2021 regardless of what she does here.

They need to pull all of the GOP money from her and send it to candidates that are actually republicans.

I think this is a signal that they have enough yes votes. Mitch probably gave the blessing to say no instead of present.

And yet....Mitch will still have the votes

A lot of people don't realize that Mitch only needs a tie in the Senate. Then VPOTUS decides. 3 repubs can vote no and 3 can abstain.

we're simply too close to the election, and in the interest of being fair to the American people -- and consistent, since it was with the Garland nomination," Collins said.

If she wants to be truly consistent, the her position should be to proceed.

So, she thought the Senate should hold a vote on Garland, but now changes her mind because....?

In times like this straying from the party should get you removed from the party. If you don’t take care of business here then you should no longer get to put an R by you’re name on the ballot.

She is an idiot because with those statements she just assured herself that she will not win reelection. Any republican who might have voted for her will not vote for her in her reelection bid.

Say what you want about Collins, but she has always been a reliable vote on any critical matter. She is a smart politician, and always plays the moderate card when her vote is not important. Being a senator from Maine, we NEED her to win, especially if her vote in this case is not a deciding one.

Its kinda like Drew Brees’ apologies. You just end up losing respect from everyone on both sides. One side is mad at you for abandoning your claimed roots. The other side knows you’ve just telegraphed how weak and vulnerable you are. No one on the left wants to vote for weakness— they’re all about power. You’re easy to destroy—and they will.

She’s toast.

She graduated college in 1975 and went straight to DC. She has never had a real job. People like this "representing" citizens is one of our biggest problems. Absolutely impossible for her to understand the real world.
