It will not be about policies, rather gender.
Hillary's gender will be much less of a factor in her campaign than race was in BO's

Because she was running against a black guy.

her personality problem
you saying she has a likeability problem doesn't mean she has one

I don't think she has one among indepdendents, moderates, democrats, etc

She may have one with 99% of conservative males and 2/3 of conservative females, but those people aren't voting for her anyway

she lost to the next POTUS

That's not a good trend line and it corresponds with her going out into the public again. Plug your ears and hope.

She better get in shape. She looks horrible and her love handles and frumpy hair will be her undoing if she doesn't address it.

Im on my phone but look at pics of her from 2008 campaign vs now. There's no way she'd survive 8 years as POTUS if she doesn't get in better health. Agree with the poster about a stroke waiting to happen.

This is probably and sadly true.

yea but for right or wrong, if Hillary campaigns on her being the next Clinton who will bring the prosperity/economic growth of the 90's back, that will appeal to a lot of people

The message is a sound one. A winning campaign theme. However, the messenger simply does not resonate with the message. The optics are exceptionally poor for her (and yes, with our shallow, vapid society, that does matter).

This version absolutely had an opportunity;

This version simply does not.

As Bama would say, it is all about the "eye" test (yes I am still bitter about 2011).

She could fix that easily if she dropped 20 lbs had a face lift or eye tuck and got her hair done.

There's rumors about her health though... that she wouldn't be able to go through such procedures

Consider this, that is what she looks like before she starts the rigors of a primary campaign and then a subsequent general election. That takes a toll on a body. Even with weight loss (which requires tremendous self discipline) and cosmetic surgery (which simply cannot hid the flaws of age) she is going to struggle during a general election to appear physically attractive to moderates. Her message of vibrant hope has to match the messenger - and it simply does not.

She looks tired and worn. And the race has not even started.

the incumbent party loses after 8 years in the Presidency.

It's just how it works.

I am not seeing any Republican candidate who personally appeals to me. I see the 2016 election as a toss up quite frankly. Based upon your rationale (which I think is sound), it should be their's to lose. Not sure of that though.

To the original post, I have nothing personal against HRC. I think that time has simply caught up with her (as it does for all of us). If the theme GB put forward is true, then she has a sound campaign message that can resonate. The problem is that the messenger does not (physically or energetically) match the message.

Just the fact.

Agreed to an extent, but what Republican aside from Romney is more likable than her? And Romney isn't quite Prince Charming, he's only recently been feted as "the one who got away" thanks to Russia and IS.

Literally - this is why we remember Romney fondly - because Putin starting acting like a bully. Is that really enough?

Looks mean nothing, I agree with Beck and a few posters. Clinton will br the next President. I am 44 and may never see another Republican in the White House again. The handouts this country are giving basically assures that!!

Rand Paul would beat Hillary because he had sound economic ideas and his stance on social issues appeal to young voters and independents

If Bill gets on the campaign trail for Hilary, it's all over. He is her ace in the hole (or someone's hole).
