CDC postpones climate conference -- Apparently CDC thought AGW was a disease

The CDC was pushing Anthropogenic Climate Change?
What a perfect demonstration as to how off the rails we'd traveled over the past decade.
It is really hard to imagine how screwed up and nationally unfocused we might have been, given 4 more years of this garbage.
We're reminded the EPA was warning of supposed coastal flooding due to inches of "rising seas", then plastering those concerns on its Climate Change website. We find NASA was fully enveloped in the AGW quagmire rather than focused on space exploration and satellite development. Now we see the CDC was reorganizing its efforts to pay homage at the AGW alter.

CDC postpones climate conference ahead of Trump takeover
By Tal Kopan, CNN
January 23, 2017
Washington (CNN)The Centers for Disease Control postponed a summit scheduled for next month on climate change and public health ahead of President Donald Trump's inauguration, participants and the CDC confirmed Monday.
While the Trump administration did not explicitly ask for the move, one of the scheduled keynote speakers of the Climate and Health Summit believes the move was made with the new President's position on climate change in mind. Trump has famously called climate change a "hoax," though his Cabinet has attempted to strike a more moderate tone in confirmation hearings.
The CDC started to notify participants just before Christmas that the meeting was "postponed," according to CDC spokeswoman Bernadette Burden.
"We are exploring options to reschedule the meeting while considering budget priorities for fiscal year 2017, including the current continuing resolution, and potential overlap with an APHA conference on the same topic also being held later in 2017," Burden said in a statement.
The meeting postponement was first reported by E&E News.

Fake news. None of this is true. Why should I believe it?

I wonder why a glass of tea never spills when the ice melt or why sea level doesn't drop when water freezes. Lol

Global warming leads to an ice age.... Haven't you seen "The Day After Tomorrow"?
Well what they don't show is people then begin eating each other, which causes a zombie outbreak disease... That is what the CDC is trying to stop

That was a bigger deal than many realize.
What Obama effectively did was ignore the actual purpose of agencies in order to get defacto budget increases to what he wanted.

Not that the CDC should be involved in in climate change but why didn't they consider this when planning it in the first place? The amount of unnecessary spending is so infuriating. When I say I wish that gov would operate more like a business this is exactly the sort of situation I'm talking about.

Concern in that regard relates to ice-covered land mass -- Antarctica, Greenland, etc. Sea levels have been gradually rising since the end of the last period of glaciation in our current ice age. Breathless, warnings that the 0.1in/yr rate of rise presents catastrophic costal threat are ridiculous.

Haven't really conceded a point yet. Got a nice streak going.

Well a lot of the ice is on land and melting into the ocean. Instead of the ice floating in the tea, have it above it dripping into it.

Why is the CDC even in this discussion. It sounds like another entity that needs to be purged.

Wait CDC has money for this but can't kill mosquitos in Florida?

Not so sure of that - there was lots of hysteria bout the arctic ice melting coupled with shorelines in Miami until they were laughed into silence.

I have yet to see someone even try to answer the question of how do you recover from an ice age without warming the climate. 12000 years is not that long in geologic ages.

Unfortunately our government has many areas where things overlap... I know DOE has its hands in "climate change" along with CDC, EPA, DOD, DOI, Agriculture, DOS, and probably a handful that I do not even know about and each one will hold its own conference and fund its own studies and fund its own projects and none of them will talk to each other for fear of losing funding... Now, I can understand why each of these might play parts in the overall scheme of the umbrella of "climate change" but they should not be operating independently of each other...
While there is plenty of waste in the area of "homeland security", there is a designated "Lead Federal Agency" responsible for responses and supporting agencies also designated for their perceived area of expertise... The LFA is responsible for conferences and meetings which the others attend... Why does this construct not work for other subjects?
