Higher Obamacare premiums will cause 2 million more people than expected to become uninsured between this year and next, according to a reportpublished Thursday by the Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation.

The premium increases will affect people who don't have medical coverage through a job or the government and do not receive subsidies under Obamacare to pay for coverage.

But as many as 9 million Americans do not qualify for subsidies, and some already chose to go without insurance when mid-level premiums were set to increase by 22 percent for 2017, while another portion of them have kept plans that were in place before Obamacare, which are less expensive but offer fewer benefits and protections.

All Obamacare accomplished was changing who was uninsured from the poor to the middle class. It's almost like wealth redistribution.

Uninsured Rate was around 15% pre ACA...some estimates have it around 11.5% right now...

We insured roughly 4% of the population and I've seen my premiums double and I've been forced to a high-deductible plan, i.e., less coverage.

THANK YOU!!!!

You deserve it for being too rich. Why don't you want to share your wealth? Why do you hate poor people?

Deductible average in Jackson Mississippi was 5k last year for people with the affordable care act, not to mention the rise in premiums and deductibles for people that worked and paid for private insurance

So more people covered, less able to afford care. Dems pump some #s and win the narrative, people lose

Who in Jackson Mississippi that can only afford 20-40 dollars a month for a plan can drop 5k to be seen? It it was something life threatening Obamacare only matches past a fairly low # anyway so you are going bankrupt with or without it

This ain't happening. Democrats want Obamacare or single payer, period. They won't move on this. There won't be a compromise on anything else. Problem is Obamacare can't be fixed...it will have to fail(or wait until 2018 when the GOP gains Senate seats).

It's only bi-partisan to dems if they get everything that they want and don't give anything. I'd love for this problem to be approached honestly by both sides to create something realistic and good for voters. But Obamacare being shoved down our throats with not one republican vote still tastes pretty sour to many of us. Now he is gone but left us all a big shite sandwich along with the rest of the terrible things that he never addressed.

They all have been kicking several cans down the road for too long.

You can't do Obamacare and lower premiums. That's the problem. You have to throw more money at it.

How much do you want?
