I think you are technically correct. I would say sitting presidents have full immunity from states while president due to the impeachment process but they should also have full immunity after leaving office for actions while in office.

We can’t have presidents getting charged by states after leaving office for decisions made while in office.


As much as I think Obama and Bush committed war crimes with some of their drone strikes they should not be prosecuted by some sort ver zealous state prosecutor.
