So basically California or any state if they wanted to could cheat in their elections and get away with it because it's their power?
Well if they are doing something illegal, then Trump would have more power to intervene.

Regardless, this is a major value of the electoral college and the distribution of the house. They can cheat, but they can only cheat their way to 2 Senators and their allotted EC votes & house reps.

And what legal basis and what law do you think gives him the ability to compel a state to give up to the executive branch.

TITLE 42 - THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE CHAPTER 20 - ELECTIVE FRANCHISE SUBCHAPTER I-H - NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION

There is plenty of precedence on States having to submit voter rolls to Uncle Sam. Primarily relating to Civil Rights Act of 1965.

Anyone else find it strange that it's almost June 30th of an odd number year? Every state is submitting records, except that foreign country on the US west coast. Hmmm....

the power of the states to run elections is their constitutional right

many federal laws have cut into that power, though. the biggest example is the VRA

there is also the federal arm, the FEC, which regulates many aspects of elections

i dunno if any law specifically mandates that California turn over its actual rolls, though

Well plus at least 2 other states, including Kentucky.

I'm still waiting for the law or precedent that requires VOTER ROLL submission.

So you can't support your legal stance with law, so you resort to personal attacks. Huh?

Most of what I've read really relates to keeping States honest about Civil Rights violations. If Uncle Sam doesn't monitor voter rolls, say hello to pre- Dr. Martin Luther King days.

Doesn't matter why... The Federal government will conduct oversight on States. As a Nation, we have long history of discrimination and crookedness at the State level when it comes to elections.
