Have we discussed this?

LINK

quote:

That's when Proposition 63 was passed, requiring background checks for the purchase of gun ammunition.

In addition, there has been concern over new ammo laws passed by the California legislature.

quote:

Eventually, online sales will be halted unless the ammo is funneled through a licensed California dealer, which also adds cost.

Deaser said he talked to out-of-state retailers at a recent national gun dealers convention and said many may stop selling in California because of the added requirements.

Sounds like they are doing everything BUT banning firearms in California. Reminds me of the conservative states doing the same to abortion.

But hey, Californians made sure porn actors don't have to wear condoms...because that infringes upon free speech.

Compared to the 2nd Amendment.

This is the first I've heard of Prop 63.

What a stupid fricking law, but this is California, so no surprise.

Well, I guess it will render all of those illegal guns the gangbangers carry useless since they won't have any more ammo.

So CA:

Vetting US citizens more severely when they buy a personal firearm: good

Vetting non-citizens from countries that produce terrorists: bad

Uh, Lake Tahoe is partly in the State of Nevada. People staying in South Lake Tahoe, CA walk across the border to Stateline, NV to go to the casinos.

Difference here is that limiting abortions saves lives; whereas, limiting firearms/ammo risks them

The lake is, but no city by that name. He named it with other cities, not other lakes.

I haven't read the stupid law, but what does it say about an individual buying ammo from out of state and bringing it back home to CA?

Is that going to be illegal?

Prop 63 is clearly a racist Proposition.

It is designed to prevent minorities from being able to exercise their 2nd amendment rights.

How can minorities possibly be able to buy a firearm or pass a background check when they aren't even able to get an ID to vote.

So? He listed locations where Californians are going to purchase ammo when these laws go into effect. There is no city in California called "Tahoe" either (There is South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City). Tahoe refers to the lake and the area around it. People who have homes in Incline Village, NV still say, "We're going to Tahoe for the weekend."

It's about time for Bugs Bunny to take his saw over to California and let them float away.
