I've only been alive for GHWB, BC, GWB, and BO. So by default re: age, I'd say Bush/Obama has been the worst 16 yr run.

I remember seeing a pretty interesting documentary on him a few months ago. He was pres. the first few years of my life, but definitely learned a lot. Certainly thought he was better than his son, no question.

I'm a conservative guy, and I was too young to really know what was going on during the Clinton years. Maybe I would hate him today, but looking back it seems like Clinton was a pretty frickin cool dude. I can respect him even if I don't always agree with him.

I'd say the Johnson/Grant/Hayes years were pretty abysmal.
Johnson and a grant couldn't or wouldn't stop Reconstruction, which crippled the South for decades. And Hayes lost but got in office as a compromise to end Reconstruction. Pretty damned pathetic 16 years.
