Rosenstein is a Republican appointed by Trump. Isn't possible that, in reality, he's the adult in the room here and some of these House Republicans (eager to be seen back home on Fox News protecting Trump) are the ones loosing their minds?

Quick history lesson there are 3 branches of government each unequivocally responsible to each other. The Judicial branch has taken both trump and congress to task. Trump (executive) has started the process of calling onus on the Judicial to man up. It is Congress’s (legislative) turn to balance the judicial branch.
Congress is inept and has been for 30 years

Many things are possible.
Fewer things are likely though.

Rosenstein has approved investigations/indictments by Mueller having nothing whatsoever to do with Russian electioneering or collusion. He has slow-walked legitimate oversight on multiple occasions. Timing of the most recent indictments was dubious.

So time will tell who the "adult in the room" is.
