Bill was really hurting most of the day, I bet he really regrets that 30 Billion he gave to charity, now. I hope his ego is OK and his family will be able to cope with his decline.

Just think, Bezos is just now really getting rolling. He will eventually leave Gates in his dust.

If Amazon ever starts making money Bezos will really get rich.

thats not how it works. his wealth is intrinsically tied to stock, not company profits.

if amazon started making a profit due to market saturation instead of growth, the stock would likely stagnate or even drop making him less wealthy.

investors love them some growth companies, not companies who have peaked.

I know I'm just bitter and have a grudge against Amazon.

But he'll feel some pain tomorrow AMZN just announced weak numbers. It's gonna drive the whole market down tomorrow big.

They had a big miss on their earnings today, and they still made 200 million dollars. They've had net earnings of almost 3.3 billion since the beginning of last year.

They've posted net earnings every quarter since Q4 of 2014. Obviously the margins are slim (1 or 2 percent), but they are growing quickly and consistently making a profit.

They beat revenue estimates, but missed on earnings. Apparently their costs rose significantly with new investments. And with exchange rates dropping this quarter, Amazon reported that cost them $500 million year over year. Probably has a lot to do with a big drop in India where Amazon is putting a lot into.

Regardless, if the GDP estimates are positive tomorrow, then I doubt this will have too much of an impact.
