potato stupidity continues as he thinks this is an easy way to make you think he is trying to lower gas prices while the truth is he knows it will ruin your cars so you go buy electric ones.

if you dont already do it now, you will be forced to buy nonethanol gas for all your lawn equipt and mowers, motorcycles, outboards, and just about any vehicle that isnt designed for hybrid fuels

if $5 gas isnt enough to piss you off then get ready for being forced to buy $8 nonethanol gas

quote:

Owners of older cars are concerned about their engines now that the Biden administration is allowing the sale of 15% ethanol gas to lower gas prices.

This gasoline blend is normally banned during summer months because of its environmental impacts, but it doesn’t just hurt the atmosphere.

Many things can damage your car or truck, but you don’t expect gas to be one of them.

WINK News wanted to determine what the widespread use of 15% ethanol blend will really mean for drivers.

“15% ethanol versus straight gasoline will be about 4% to 5% decrease in mileage in all vehicles across the board,” said Billy Marino, a mechanic at Terry Wynter Auto Service Center.

How will people know if their car runs on this blend? “Around 2005, they introduced ethanol as a standard into all gasoline in the US market. From that time forward, manufactured vehicles adhere to it. Cars earlier than that aren’t really equipped for it,” said Marino.

The Biden administration says the move will save drivers an average of 10 cents per gallon at more than 2,300 gas stations, but will it be worth it?

“What’s going to happen is we’re just going to end up consuming more fuel to get the same miles out of that tank. The 10 cents or so that we may recoup by using ethanol isn’t going to offset the cost of using a gallon and a half more of fuel,” said Marino.

The best way to prevent ethanol damage is to use the proper fuel in your car.

It’s best to check the manufacturer’s recommendations for your vehicle and always follow those guidelines.

Brandon is an idiot. And, this is an asinine decision. But, this was discussed yesterday in another long thread.

most autos pre-2018 don't play well with E15 - only designed for E10.

because you know why

and the best part is there is no mandate for labeling so we wont even know when it happens in our areas until you start having engine failures because of it.

thats right, there is no mandate for clear labeling on the gas pumps when switching over to straight 15% ethanol. im pretty sure that was intentional and not just an oversight. these people are down right evil

More corn for gas.

Less diesel for corn.

Pre-existing food shortage.

That's a bold move, Cotton.

What are the ways it effects these cars? Are stations required to say if they are selling E15 at the pump?

Why is this not being fought on a private and/or state level? Why has there been no injunctions to bidens EO's?

Maybe someone should tell this putz that Fidel Castro thought that wasting food for fuel was stupid. That could help change his mind knowing Fidel is in hell disappointed in him.

So $7.05 instead of $7.15?

Well hot damn! Looks like we're getting hot dogs for the 4th again this year!

Given the impact on air quality, someone in an area with Trump judges should sue on the grounds that this policy will have a disproportionate impact on the health of BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities.

The right judge would love to get that language into a ruling.

Can you provide a link to this mandate?

I checked WINK news site (and Google) and didn't see anything about a mandate, though there are references to some places offering E15.

Not doubting that they would do something this stupid.

Kwik Trip has been selling E15, branded as Unleaded 88, for several years up here. It's generally less than 5 cents a gallon cheaper than regular E10. Not sure what the spread is right now but it's not much.

it completely ruins the engines causing them to overheat and burn up

they were before but no longer, he removed the requirement to label the percentage of ethanol in the gas so you cant trust the old stickers on the pumps and new stickers are not required

Because Congress has spent the last 120 years avoiding its responsibilities by giving POTUS and unaccountable executive alphabet agencies free reign to establish policy.
