Better not to vote for certain ballot items if you are ignorant?

I am referring to judicial candidates here. I don't have a great feel for the differences between them.

Yes. If you don't know the candidates, or don't understand an issue on an amendment, you should not vote on that item.

I'm a bit disturbed that this needs to be asked.

They're pretty much all morons and most of the time you're damned either way.

Judgeships shouldn't even be by election. They should be lifetime appointments by the governor with approval from the Senate - but subject to recall by election if the people desire.

I say don't vote in that case. I did similarly for school board members.

That's probably a good idea. But you did vote randomly, don't feel too bad because you are probably just canceling out some other random vote.

I disagree on the amendment.

If you don't understand an amendment you should vote NO

I wouldn't mind that as an alternative.

Yeah, I wouldn't vote. If you know any lawyers, call them for their take on the local judge elections. I don't practice family law, but all it took was a quick phone call to find out who the best family court candidate was in my district

Amendments are easier to get info on than judges IMO

True but sometimes there is a lot more to them than the text.
