LINK

This number is for one month alone: November 2014.

And yet, Hillary says that we must "empathize with" and "respect" our jihadi enemies.

Thoughts?

Good god.
But I assume most killed were Muslims. Wrong demographics for media to give a shite.

What do you want us to do about it?

I'm tired of my tax dollars going to buy bullets to stop a mentality and backwards culture. It will never work. Wasted money.

Are you afraid of Jihadists?

If the CIA would stop water boarding people this would all stop.

What to do about it?

Tough question. I'm not sure.

Yes, we could spend ourselves into bankruptcy fighting them.

But, Hillary's comment seems very naive and ill-timed, given this new report. The Jihadists have killed over five thousand in one month, and that's shocking.

Some of the Jihadi killings are arguably Genocide, so, morally speaking, the whole world should be energized to do something. But it's not. Some in the USA seem to be the only ones energized to do something.

I applaud the US taxpayer and military efforts to combat this. It's commendable, and I totally understand the weariness caused by the task.

The US can't do it alone, and I'm disappointed in the much of the rest of the world for not doing more. We can't change that.

But, specifically WRT her comments: What do you make of Hillary's comment?

I pay no attention to her. She seems like an awful, calculated, calous woman.

And, to put things in perspective, how many people do you think we have killed in our Middle Eastern invasions?

I promise you it is well over 5k per month at it's height.

To further this along we also gave millions of people freedom from the worlds most brutal regimes (Afganistan and Iraq) and the ability to change their political structure.

While revenge, oil and terrorism played the opening act we did give them a chance to write the rest themselves.

To bad many of them don't seem to give a sh!t.

We induce more than 100,000 abortions every month in this country. I really don't care what a bunch of uncivilized ragheads are doing in their country when we have not progressed beyond killing for the sake of convenience.

For the record I don't believe Hillary Clinton cares about abortions either.

When will people realize that just because we have rules to live by, the bad guys don't give a shite. They play by their rules only. As long as we play by the rules and they don't, what you reckon the outcome of that will be?

That figure seems high to me.

But, if you have concerns about the US Drone Strike program, they are legitimate. Collateral damage and deaths occur despite our best efforts.

Erin go Bragh: Essentially, you say that we have bigger problems here at home. Yes, we have big problems here at home.

That figure you gave for abortions seems high. Is that accurate? That is a shocking figure.

I'm pretty sure we're inducing more than a million abortions a year in the U.S. so I believe the 100,000 per month is fairly accurate.

Anyone who thinks we should empathize with these barbarians may as well be committing the crimes of the jihadists themselves.

We don't want to hi-jack the thread. That said, I understand your opinion. The US military can "live by the rules" even though the Jihadis ignore the rules. Our effective use of force is not diminished by following rules.

It's the interpretation of the rules that is key. Aye, there's the rub. We were dealing with unlawful combatants, and we had legal opinions concluding that a specific list of measures were not torture. Now, if some interrogators went outside of the boundaries of the guidelines, that could be torture.

But, I don't want to hi-jack the thread.

Is there anyone who plans to vote for Hillary who will respond to her comment about wanting to respect and empathize with the Jihadis, whom have just killed over 5K people just last month?

Thanks for the graph homesick. If there's anything good about it its the downward trend since the early 90's.

Apologies to the OP for the side discussion.

The abortion figure is indeed disturbing. It's a great topic for an on-going thread. As we see Constitutional Law evolve with regard to many issues, one could ask: Will Con Law evolve with regard to the Abortion issue?

Agreed.

And, how awkward and untimely is the Obama Admins release of this "torture report" in light of the fact that Jihadis have just murdered over 5,000 people just last month?

Nobody in the Obama Admin has anything to say about that. They prefer to say "Oh the USA is SO bad" and "we have got to empathize with and respect our enemies".

I think that our resident Obama fans and Democrats should chime in here in this thread.

Of course, they may be getting tired of the daily beatings that they receive around here whenever the discourse turns away from their name-calling tactics and involves serious debate.

you want it to go down further? Give away free birth control in high schools. And teach them to use it.
