Brodie Ethan Steinhagen: Government has obligation to all citizens to make sure all their basic needs are met.
Kenneth Wiesenhahn: What defines basic need?
Brodie: Food, water, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education.
Kenneth Wiesenhahn: Not government's role to be involved in such matters. Only role of government is to protect rights and defend citizens
Brodie: Food, water, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education are all rights that must be protected so yes, it is government's role
Kenneth: Who determines what is a basic right and what isn't?
Brodie: The government does
Kenneth: Who is eligible for such "rights"?
Brodie: Every single citizen
Kenneth: What about non citizens?
Brodie: Anyone who pays taxes or has lived in this country for at least a month should be considered a citizen. No taxation without representation.
Kenneth: So if someone comes here on "vacation" and is here for a month they automatically get free food, water, housing, healthcare, and education, and voting rights?
Brodie: Absolutely
Callers have been calling in and sadly are siding about 80%-20% with Brodie. We are fricked.

To be honest though, the vast majority listening to NPR are DU/KOS/HuffPo useful idiots, so that shouldn't be surprising.

I'm getting the feeling that you're making these names up.
