If he had sex with a prostitute there wouldn’t that fall under those laws and not be under investigation with Federal resources.
There maybe human trafficking concerns, but unless Clinton himself was recruiting young girls to go to the island. I don’t see how he could be charged under U.S. law.
It maybe embarrassing to the Clinton brand, but what is usually an embarrassment to for a Democrat is usually a resume enhancement as the famous ElRushbo put it.

There actual is a federal law on this, to prosecute American sex tourists (but it was more for the Thailand variety than the Bahamas).

Now, this is the type of law that gets real scary, real fast, for the reasons you brought up. It basically extends American jurisdiction beyond our borders on flimsy legal grounds. It's easy to digest when the first law is about sex with minors, but we all know that's a backdoor to expanding the use of these types of laws.

I don't know this guy buy Thailand is one of the countries often cited by people either retiring abroad, leaving the "failing USA", or trying to live in a more traditional society away from modern, Western women. There's a large ex pat community in Thailand who actually lives there and has nothing to do with the sex tourism.
From what others have said, though, if you haven't already left, it's probably too late for Thailand b/c it got so popular. Colombia and Costa Rica are in this boat, too.

It used to be cheap. An old coworker of mine used to spend winters there, summers here, back in the 90s. But I have no doubt he was looking for cheap sex more than cheap living.
Prostitution will forever be a crime with victims. You cant get the "trafficking" out of the business.

Yes, for tourists.
It was a hot market for Western expats due to the low COL, but too many moved there and the COL savings aren't that great (like with other areas like Colombia and Costa Rica). Lots of English speakers (in the cities), jobs, etc.
I think Portugal is still cheap but there are reasons why (infrastructure issues, major economic issues, etc.). Portugal is more a place for the retiring ex pat to make retirement stretch longer than for working-age ex pats.

Yes but like with the other expat countries, once the COL caught up (due to higher Western demand), the ex pat immigration decreased.
Sex tourism is real, popular there, and gross. But it's still tourism. Those freaks leave. The expats stay. You can get easy access to prostitutes in all of these countries b/c they're less developed than the West.

If Clinton were to be prosecuted for any sex related crime, it would open a whole can of worms DC doesnt want opened. Nothing is going to happen.

That's not true. Plenty of victimless prostitutes out there..... But in today's state of illegality of course it will attract the traffickers and worst of the worst
