Automation threatens longshoreman jobs

These are not minimum-wage jobs, either. Historically these jobs have paid very well.

To paraphrase Bon Jovi:

"Tommy used to work on the dock,
Robot took his job, he's down on his luck"

Some level of guaranteed minimum income will have to happen in the next 50 years. Automation isn't going to stop and is going to affect every industry.

Just wait until trucking and shipping become automated. It will get ugly.
