And then got demolished.

quote:

Audi ? @Audi
Women are still paid 21% less than men. As a brand that believes in progress, we are committed to equal pay for equal work. #DriveProgress pic.twitter.com/bmQKrNr9l4

Prepper Frog @TueborFrog
@Audi You pay your female employees less than males? You know that's against the law, right?

quote:

Audi ? @Audi
@TueborFrog When we account for all the various factors that go into pay, women at Audi are on par with their male counterparts.

quote:

Katie Hileman @KathleenHileman
@Audi @TueborFrog exactly the point. Women at Audi work different jobs which accounts for the perceived unequal pay. You made our point.

My SO is a teacher and I am an engineer. I make like 100% more than her.

THIS IS PROOF THAT A PAY GAP EXISTS

i headshotted a friend on FB the other day after i posted my purposefully inflammatory hijab post, mocking world hijab day. she argued the hijab was a "choice" the women made and we should respect it. i found a previous post she had made about how the patriarchy in the US is what leads to women choosing different majors/employment and the patriarchy created the pay gap

I'm a teacher and wife is an hospital admin. She makes like 100% more than me.

More proof that a pay gap exists.

Picking and choosing man. The hypocrisy of individuals on stances is ridiculous. And they dont even realize it.

Oh also, your post after this one, interesting anecdote. My SOs aunt and uncle are both EEs. But once they had kids, she quit working and he kept working. A fine example of the difference in life choices of the genders. AND THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. So idk why people have to get defensive about women being "forced" to make choices. No, its practical, logical, and reasonable that if a woman has kids, and the man can support the family financially, she should quit working.

Same education, career path, job, but that shite all changes in the mid to late 30s

I make way more than my wife. However, when we started having kids she was on an executive career path. She chose to remove herself from that path because it was too demanding. Had she stayed on it, we would probably be about equal in pay.

Are they truly being hired OVER more qualified women? Or are there just more men applying for those positions?

Honest question.

bullshite. All the handwringing and fear of lawsuits over the gender pay gap myth biased companies in favor of women.

If a man and a woman are truly equally qualified, most companies will promote the woman, because the man poses zero risk of suing them for discrimination.

No, they aren't. It's complete bullshite. There is no way to track that any way, so it's just throwing shite against a wall to see what sticks.

Every company with any size falls all over itself to hire even under-qualified women and minorities. When they come across one of significant qualifications, they aren't letting them get away.

This is reality. Every company is scared to death of being sued and so they do everything they can to avoid even the appearance of discrimination against women and non-whites, which means most will discriminate openly against white males.

From what ive witnessed personally women in leadership positions have a tougher road. Shorter leash, higher expectations when it comes to behavior and lifestyle, and have to be a completely proven commodity. Rare that a woman is chosen to learn OTJ as ive seen with bros in higher ranking jobs.
A close relative of mine is a woman who made it to the executive vp level of a major company in corporate america and experienced what can only be described as hellish treatment. But thats anecdotal and i dont expect you guys to take it on face value.

And how much of that is due to resentment from other women?

I'll take your word for it. But what I do have trouble taking at face value is the dueling narratives I see (sometimes from the same person).

One one hand, businesses are cold-hearted machinations whose only desire is the pursuit of profit.

On the other hand, these profit-hungry businesses will also cast aside better and more qualified candidates (who would presumably help them make more money) simply because they're women.

Doesn't add up...
