Nope. It involves the country's population as a whole, not individual areas.

Not even close. I go to church every Sunday along with millions of others, pray at night with my family, buy religous books, help with a christian charity.
Still as free as ever. Turn your tv off and quit reading silly blogs about how bad your life is because of some scary boogie man out to get you.

Rules are complicated. I'll continue to mock everyone including myself when warranted.

And that, my friend, is the proper way to live.

When most people think about nazi germany and the Jewish population, they think of the end result. But every end had a beginning.

Jews were not being killed in mass at the beginning. I was not suggesting that million of conservatives or christians were being killed.

Christian groups added to hate status

Yep. As a Christian, you are in a small persecuted minority that has only a marginal voice in shaping public policy. Dumbass.

Meh, doesn't bother me precisely because a) I don't give a shite and b) I am a part of the dominant culture.

Depends on the nature of the mocking and who's doing it as far as I'm concerned.

You're right, Cuomo's sentiment is shared by others. Just in New York alone, both Schumer and the new NYC Mayor agreed with him.

I'd love to see the fallout if the Governor of a conservative state said that pro-choice or gun confiscation advocates weren't welcome in their state. Like Jindal or Perry, for example.

The reaction would be thermonuclear.

When you INTENTIONALLY attempt to portray a GROUP of NON-CRIMINAL people as somehow DISREPUTABLE for their beliefs and opinions, and you suggest SEPARATING THEM from those "more Reputable" you are on VERY dangerous ground. The highly-influential Governor of my home state just did this.

The next step is CRIMINALIZING their behavior and opinions. That's a natural progression with Man throughout history, which is why it is imperative that ALL people condemn attempts to do so.

In 21'st Century America, it is perfectly acceptable (indeed celebrated amongst The American Cultural Taste Makers on the Coasts) to express anti-Christian bigotries publically. There is no fear of backlash like there would be against Culturally-Protected groups.

This Administration is comprised from the top down of a different kind of Religious Fundamentalist, and that is the rigid, Orthodox Leftist. They do not feel constrained by The Rule Of Law or Constitutional limitations. They have identified certain people and groups who fit the Conservative Christian Traditionalist meme and have targeted them for ridicule, abuse and government persecution. They do this to GREAT APPLAUSE from their base. Because it is considered VIRTUOUS by many on The Left (there are notable exceptions of course) to allow their bigotry towards them to guide their speech and behavior. It is in every sense, a "safe" Bigotry.

Yes, the comparison is spot on. Jews were desperately changing their names and scrubbing their personal history to distance themselves from their Jewish origins

Meanwhile, two sitting governors in the South converted to Christianity, and otherwise almost certainly wouldn't have been elected.

In my life, I have never seen so much hate towards conservatives nor Christians.

It's pushback against the relentless drive by very vocal christian groups to turn this country into a theocracy. Conservatives/republicans made common cause with them in the 70s and 80s, politicizing religion, in order to win elections and now they quake in their boots over offending them. These know-nothings are indeed despised by an increasingly large number of people who happen to occupy positions where they influence public opinion. I'm happy to see some counterbalance to these extremists.

I'm answering the OP's question, wherein he said he's never seen such feverish hatred towards Christians. I was letting him know that two sitting governors in the South actually converted to his persecuted flock, thereby facilitating their political careers. I'm sure there were tons of non-Jews clamoring to self-identify as Jewish in 1930's Germany.

Your stale and cob-webbed Narrative.
Moveon.org and Puffington Host are fighting over it like it's 1988.
