Before Trump's inauguration, Drudge headlined 'record numbers'. Google searches have turned up nothing for me. Is it business as usual or we finally enforcing the law?

The border crossed them, according to some protesters in my town . . . they're just reclaiming their rightful homeland like Israel

One difference is that we won this land cause our fathers kicked their arse in war and would again. Israel has kicked the rest of the Middle East's arse in war and would do it again without even our help.

But it was the Brits who did that for them, at least initially.

Yeah. Plus they had a lot of arms and supplies given or sold to them by the West.

We took a lot more than we have now in a war and gave most of it back. They probably don't know that though.

I meant at the outset. They weren't reverse engineering obsolete Mauser K98's and Vickers machine guns.

Although the the border with Mexico is the primary route for immigrants from many Latin American countries, immigration from Mexico has dropped significantly in recent years. Lately, more Mexicans immigrants have returned home than moved to the US.

quote:

After four decades of rapid growth, the size of the Mexican immigrant population in the United States has remained stable in recent years. In 2014, more than 11.7 million Mexican immigrants resided in the United States, accounting for 28 percent of the 42.4 million foreign-born population—by far the largest immigrant origin group in the country.

Between 2006 and 2010, the number of Mexican immigrants increased by 200,000 compared to the more than 2 million who arrived in the five years prior (see Figure 1). Following this trend, in the last decade and a half, the Mexican share among all immigrants dropped from 29.5 percent in 2000 to 27.6 percent in 2014.

link? source? . . . I don't doubt it, but the overall quantity (think about those from other Central American countries as well as vagabonds using the backdoor) is still likely very high.

When the economy picks up, they will start coming back in larger numbers. I talked to a labor contractor in South La who said he was about to go to Mexico to pick up workers because he didn't have enough laborers for the contracts coming up.

Apparently Louisianians are too lazy to work the requested hours.

Mexicans aren't the big worry anymore

it's the people from Central America below Mexico that are just traveling through Mexico
