Are hate speech laws the next "never gonna happen" that happens?

I think so.
I would wager with anyone, that within 5 years at least one state will have real hate speech laws on the books.

Legal challenges galore will arise soon after. Landmark case will come, and the left probably won't like the outcome.
I'd be interested to see how a state defines hate-speech, and the subsequent sub-issues that could fall under it.

I never say never anymore when it come to the Marxist plague that has been infecting our country. But if things get to that point, shite has really hit the fan and alot of blood will have already been shed. So, I will say I hope not

If that happens then the freedoms when experience in the US will be dealt a major blow. It may seem small at first, but its going to be bad.
Hell, how many movies have racist aspects to them?

How about Django Unchained? It would be "banned" under "hate speech" laws. How could it not be? Does Hollywood get some special exemption?
Can rap music no longer say "n@#$##A" anymore? Would that all be banned under "hate speech" ?

Yes, then a left run organization will determine what is hate speech, which will essentially turn into silencing political opposition.

But eventually it would get turned back on them. When you back people into a corner by taking away their forms of expressing their voice (which is what would happen if you limit speech), then they'll probably be more likely to turn to violence seeing that as the only possible way to get their point across.

These people sincerely don't believe what they label "hate speech" is protected by the first amendment.
Is there a list or something out that says what exactly "hate speech" even is? It seems like in their minds saying, "Donald Trump" = "hate speech".

SCOTUS won't allow it.
It's why it was so imperative to keep Hillary out of the WH.

A state may pass a "hate speech" law, but the SCOTUS would strike it down almost immediately as soon as a case came to them. I'd like to think it would be a 9-0 decision as even the left judges wouldn't be that ignorant. The first amendment isn't there to protect popular speech, popular speech doesn't need protecting. It's there to protect unpopular speech. It's the corner stone of our republic, and the day it's allowed to be trampled is the day our country begins to fall.
