Are any other Trump supporters annoyed by the green card and visa parts of EO?

Why give the left and the media such good ammo to fight back with? Why not just limit to people trying to come over and not people who've legitimately made it through?

Kind of. It would've had the same impact though on liberals and they would just ignore the fact that Obama did the same thing for an even longer amount of time.

Well sure, they'd be outraged either way. I think the green card and visa provisions give standing to saying that this was poorly executed.

Can you include SA, Egypt and Pakistan as not being part of this as well?

They are not barring green card holders from entry. I agree that they should not.

I'm totally okay with the rest of this order, and I'm confident that if there are issues that come out of this that this administration would make adjustments.

I'm not a trumpkin, but was a NeverHillary voter. I want Trump to be successful. Yeah, I don't think it should have included green card holders. They've been vetted. His statement today was good, but 48 hours too late. The whole approach to this was ham handed at best.

That'll get fixed in the rewrite. It was designed that way. Just sit back and watch.

Interesting. On the home page of the National Review, you had one article saying they were, and another article saying that weren't. Incompetence breeds confusion. The one guy who worked for the US military in Iraq should have walked right in. So he obviously was detained at least for a few hours.

Most of us remember Kathleen Sebelius saying they were going to get the Obamacare website fixed.

Don't give us rewrites. Do it right the first time, and then have good communications. I don't want to see Kathleen Sebelius moments from this administration.

I think there was either some confusion over enforcement of the EO or vagueness in the order itself.

Either way, the position of the administration has been clarified and they don't intend ban green card holders from entry. That doesn't mean that they won't get delayed for a while especially over the next few days. We probably need to distinguish between stories about people with legal status being inconvenienced and stories about them actually being barred from entry.

most new laws take some time to adjust to, as well as work out the kinks, no big deal.

Anybody who says this wasn't handled poorly is being extremely dishonest.

But that has zero to do with this thread's discussion.

It's easier to include everything and then take away then it is to pick some things and add to it later.

What annoys me about it is the way they seemingly didn't put much thought into the implementation. I think they just got a little ahead of themselves, but it unfortunately had real world consequences for innocent people. Going to have to do better in the future.

Yes. I agree with the temporary ban but the way they implemented it is not right at all.
