Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano on Thursday called President Trump's response to Puerto Rico "too little too late" amid criticism of the Trump administration's response to the humanitarian crisis on the U.S. island territory.

"The impression is too little, too late, too below the radar screen for this White House," the former New Jersey Superior Court judge said on a Fox News panel with host Brett Baier discussing Trump's renewed push for federal support for Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria struck the island.

"There is the perception," Napolitano stated, "that the president is more interested in other things - certainly was more interested in Irma and Harvey - than he has been in the catastrophe that's become Puerto Rico."

The president has pushed back against accusations that he is preoccupied with his ongoing dispute over NFL players kneeling during the national anthem, saying Tuesday that despite his Twitter content focused on the NFL he is fully engaged with the Puerto Rican crisis.

"Can he recover from this? Yes, he can," Napolitano said. "He has had a very bad week because of domestic political events here."

The White House announced Thursday that Trump had temporarily suspended the Jones Act, a 1920 shipping law for cargo vessels, in order to help send valuable resources to the island.

The governor of Puerto Rico said the opposite, I bet he would know.

Depending on what you read. Seems as though relief efforts were started just as they were for TX and LA.

Of course lefties will call out the Prez for not doing enough.

Napolitano has been on the sore sphincter train since the campaign days.

Hear he's going to his golf club tomorrow, though. That's gotta count for something.

Why do you ignore what the Puerto rico governor has said?

There is literally no evidence that the federal government has been "slacking" providing relief to PR.

Do you have any guiding philosophy other than opposing trump?

I was watching the WH Presser earlier and was laughing my arse off over the constant, "what about air dropping supplies" while on the split screen the devastation was being shown.

It really made me wish Sarah Sanders could have popped up some of those images and asked in return: "Which pile of downed trees or pile of impassable rubble do you want us to drop supplies onto that the people will never reach?"

The videos by the MSM showing all the impassable roads, downed bridges, showing the work crews clearing 100 yards at a time to open travel...then complaining about the supplies backlog at the ports because they can't get out more than a short way from the ports until more roads are cleared. DOH!

The WH in coordination with FEMA and the DoD had at least 8 ships ready and waiting to go in on day 1 once the storm cleared. With 2 other hurricanes just the week before, a near nuclear war across the planet and a couple of "conflicts" in Syria and Iraq and Afghanistan, just how much more could have been done?

Fox News needs to get rid of Napolitano, Karl Rove, Chris Wallace and Chris Stirwalt. They go out of their way to find some way to criticize everything Trump does.

You forgot to include butthurt Toddy/Shep Smith. He really should go ahead and leave FNC, they're holding him back. He can go let out all his whiny crybaby butthurt over at CNN or MSLSD without having to go against all the pretty ladies at Fox. He'd be much more comfortable getting his feelings out and sharing on the fruitcake and cupcake filled MSM network shows.

While I was at the gym this morning, I noticed they kept running a story about all the supplies that are actually in PR but are stuck in port because they do not have enough truck drivers...

Of course they conveniently left out the fact that even if they did have enough truck drivers, over half of PR is still inaccessible by truck...

The problem with disasters of this scale is that people think that response and logistics is easy... Sorry but there is not an "easy" button to push and make things all better...

This is the same clown that insisted a grand jury had be impanelled in the Clinton investigation based on his knowledge of how things worked. He also made a bunch of other completely incorrect predictions about that investigation. He was completely ignorant to the fact that the fix was in and now I'm supposed to believe that he knows if trump had a bad week or might have to "recover" from a decision made about Puerto Rico? Take the opposite side of his predictions and you'll be closer to the truth.

Politicization of natural disasters might be the lowest form of political dissent. They ain't called disasters for nothing. Cant sprinkle fairy dust on them.

Why don't you stop bitching and go down there and help since you're so concerned? You sitting on your high horse in your nice comfy New York high rise is "too little too late."
