I can’t think of another historical analogue of trying to punish a conspiracy to commit an act that is perfectly legal where you intend to commit it.

Fugitive slave act?

Didn't criminalize anything, did it? Just required return of the slaves to their owners, as I recall.

I don’t like this from a states’ rights perspective.

Agree
There are conservatives who are just as compartmentalized as progs. Its a losing proposition and the dude is clueless.

Imagine that Rhode Island criminalized eating beef, and then prosecuted anyone who crossed the state line to eat a steak.
lol....that's not what's happening......they are not prosecuting the people doing it....they are going to do something legal in an other state....they are prosecuting Alabama business helping/paying for them to go do those things that are illegal in their state.

Then it is worse. They are prosecuting the Uber driver who drove you across the state line to the Sizzler.

So a Texas tour bus company who loads up a bunch of Texans and drives them to the casinos in Lake Charles?

Precisely.

And maybe even the individual who sold the ticket or even the owner of the location where they load the bus (the local mall?).

This is like saying you could get arrested in Alabama for smoking weed in Colorado if you went from Alabama to Colorado and are an Alabama citizen.
This would be a very slippery slope that all of us no matter the views should oppose vehemently.

I'm just seeing a fine (from the original 1793 law at least).

quote:

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That any person who shall knowingly and willingly obstruct or hinder such claimant, his agent, or attorney, in so seizing or arresting such fugitive from labor, or shall rescue such fugitive from such claimant, his agent or attorney, when so arrested pursuant to the authority herein given and declared; or shall harbor or conceal such person after notice that he or she was a fugitive from labor, as aforesaid, shall, for either of the said offences, forfeit and pay the sum of five hundred dollars. Which penalty may be recovered by and for the benefit of such claimant, by action of debt, in any Court proper to try the same, saving moreover to the person claiming such labor or service his right of action for or on account of the said injuries, or either of them.

It is stupid. I doubt the guy is really a conservative and likely is just a deep state hack puppet doing deep state things to mess up elections and divide people.

Yet I'm sure you see no issues with CA, and other states to follow, creating a law that literally kidnaps kids that run away because they want to be sexually destroyed by "doctors".

You democrats are disgusting commie filth

Are you babbling about SB-107? If so, that is not remotely what it does.

A conspiracy to what crime? If abortion is a crime in Alabama, but not in California, the abortion took place in California. So no crime was committed in Alabama. So how the hell can alabama say you committed a crime?

This should send shockwaves through every free citizen.

You never realize until you read these threads how many trashy pieces of shite get bent out of shape because they can’t murder babies or help other people murder them.

Trashy people are trash.

Also, still pretending that abortion cost Republicans elections.

You can’t conspire to murder children in Alabama. That’s solid even in pretend lawyer school, Hank.

Really? What if he were prosecuting people who drove from Alabama to Colorado to smoke weed? Or a New York A.G. prosecuting a New Yorker who went to Kentucky to shoot machine guns?

Who is Marshall prosecuting, genius? Maybe ask Pretend Counsel Hank. See if he knows.

Some of you read where women couldn’t murder their children and started seething because you like fricking loose, syphilis-infested whores you met at a bar without consequence.

You can’t kill babies in Alabama. It’s funny that it makes you expose yourselves as the trash you are.

No one, yet.

He issued an AG advisory that it would be legal and appropriate to prosecute anyone who assists an pregnant woman with interstate travel for an abortion.

No, you cannot. No one is arguing otherwise, my friend.

Females I know in Alabama oppose abortion by at LEAST 100 to 1. It’s probably double that (among females I know or with whom I interact).

I don’t know a lot of trashy whores or have them in my circle of friends, though.

You should stop listening to the mainstream news media. Females aren’t overwhelmingly in favor of murdering children like they’d have you believe.

Most of the people mad about the banning of abortion are men who may have to now be responsible for their actions. The “game” got harder and they’re pissy (and trashy) little bitches about it.
