I voted for Trump. I think the climate is changing but I don't think we can turn the economy on its head to change anything. The private sector will figure out clean energy without the government trying to rig the energy sector.

Why the hell did the president-elect meet with these two shitheads?

Sometimes you gain a fuller perspective by listening to people you don't necessarily agree with. Doesn't mean you do what they want or buy into their beliefs.

He's a boss because he sacrificed minutes out of his very important day to meet with Wolf of Wall Street and Titanic actor?

You and I have different definitions of what is boss.

the Magnetic poles go through shifts every 19,000 years i think and we are currently undergoinga shift.

it puts lots of things in flux.

and the ice caps are melting but its not Global warming due to human interference, and why should we sacrifice our own jobs and industry to justify this.. china isnt slowing down.. why cripple ouselves.. especially with green energy now available Solar, Wind, Tidal

the Epa and carbon tax are and have been crippling the US economy for too long.

as far as an opinion on why magnetic poles shift i asked my Physics professor on a whim in 2007. and he had no answer but the next day he concurred that the poles are shifting away from N/S . more to a 5/6 magnetic pole situation but its gradual, not instantaneously 2 poles then 6 poles the next year.
the poles would then flip again eventually with south polarization at current north pole and the opposite at south pole.

The planet is in flux. he never gave reasonings .. ol Mikhof Bonderescu
anyway my opinion is that its something cyclical that affects the planet something affecting its magnetism/gravitation possibly an object in the solar system which affects the magnetic core of the planet moving the magma and creating hot spots as well as moving the magnetic field.

an Object would have to be much larger than earth and on a trajectory that takes 19,000 years, to account for the almost regular occurrence of the change in poles.

im not a physicist though just a mechanical engineer

The Al Gore meet was probably just a shut up the left meet.

He may have actually listened to Leo as he isnt a politician and seems to have studied the issue.

While I consider myself a staunch conservative, I also have the reasoning to consider all of the pollution generated by us (although highly regulated as compared to most countries) as well as the output from others as possibly having an affect.

Not on the global warming bandwagon but have no issue with listening and possibly learning about the topic more.

Edit to remove double wording

I believe Trump feels he represents all Americans and is willing to listen to perspectives that may differ from his own.

I can understand how anyone watching the current squatter sitting in the oval office might not recognize the effort Trump is making as being presidential.

The wisest leaders get opinions and listen to all people, then formulate decisions. Has been that way since the beginning of time.

It's called being a good leader.

If you are inclined to worry about something, this is more likely the area you should be concerned with. Not AGW climate change.

Forget global warming, worry about Earth's MAGNETOSPHERE collapsing

Throw in the old BS ozone layer crisis for good measure.

The wisest leaders take counsel from climate scientists and experts. Leo DiCaprio doesn't know one iota about the Earth's climate. He's good at standing on a podium in front of a bunch of people drinking $1000 bottles of Bordeaux while discussing why we need to do something about climate change. Beyond that --

So I'm not sure this can be deemed as some attempt to seek out sturdy information.

Here is my biggest problem, developing countries are far worse about environmental pollution than the US is, we can't fix the problem by ourselves, the whole planet needs to get on board. Good luck with that.

Weather, see what I did there, you "believe" in climate change or not, science has proven without a doubt that having a city like Beijing filled with so much smog you can't see father than 50 ft is harmful to people.
