Even if they did find out is was faked, no way anything is followed up on, at least publicly. Way too much embarrassment for both sides of the aisle to allow it. Too much headache to sort things out.

Nothing would happen. Ted Cruz is proof you can run for president without actually being born in the U.S., as long as one of your parents is a citizen. Obama's mother was from Kansas.
