Respectfully disagree.

I'll drink a margarita, tequila, whatever ... but, that's about it. I never needed a special day for that.

Everyone else can do what they want ... free country. Doesn't bother or affect me.

I could make a stronger case for "siesta" being more offensive than fiesta.

If the student body at Dartmouth had any sense, they would be advocating the banning of the term "educated fool."

One last thought. I wonder which minority group hates white people the most?

(1) Blacks
(2) Hispanics
(3) Guilty White Liberals

My money is on (3).

Thanks for the link.

quote:

Noah Smith ’15, a member of Phi Delt, said he was wearing a “Phiesta” T-shirt at Collis on Saturday night when an individual approached him from behind and poured an iced red Powerade on his shirt. According to Smith, the individual said, “Oh, I’m sorry, did I spill on your racist tank?” and then proceeded to mop up the spilled liquid, noting that he did not want to leave a mess for Dartmouth Dining Services staff.
Smith called Safety and Security, who gathered statements from witnesses. Smith said a bias incident report has been filed and the undergraduate judicial affairs office and the Hanover Police Department have been notified.
Guillermo Rojas ’13, the alleged perpetrator, said he spilled the drink by accident and apologized. “I’m all for open dialogue amongst groups, but no one deserves to be physically assaulted, period, let alone without the opportunity to engage in some kind of dialogue,” Smith said. “That’s just unacceptable.” Smith said he felt the criticism of “Phiesta” to be misguided, noting that he did not find anything about the event to be racially offensive. The event, Rojas said, was offensive and culturally inappropriate. “I’m Mexican. I don’t like it when people appropriate Mexican culture,” he said.

This whole article just reminds me that America is turning in to cuckoo land. Assaulting someone because you dont like their shirt that is promoting their charity. Appropriating their culture? A "Bias Incident Report"? Really?

What's really crazy is, I think I read 2-3 years ago that Dartmouth grads earn more money after school than anybody.

How can they be so smart in their area of endeavor, yet not possess enough common sense to realize they've been brainwashed? It's like peeking in on the real-life, collegiate version of The Stepford Wives.

Was it Abraham Lincoln who said that, if America ever fell, it would be because of an internal implosion? He was a wise man, indeed.

Of course, he was also a Gringo, so I guess I shouldn't be complimenting him.

Bias Incident Response Team, more like "ensure minorities are a protected class that get preferential treatment on this campus" Response Team

Can you imagine the outrage if she was Irish and protesting like this with respect to St. Patrick's Day?

We commercialize our own sacred holidays, there is no reason we can't commercialize the shite out of your drinking celebrations.

The worst people in America. These are the people who criminalize gun shaped pop-tarts, think killing wildflowers should be punishable by death but abortion is worthy of celebration, and think lily-white, privileged Sandra Fluke is a hero because she was victimized by having to pay 4 bucks a month for birth control.

But they are good hearted people who want to do good for others. The problem occurs when they get the power to tell you what to do.

There are variations. Some are truly compassionate and think government control is the way to spread their compassionate views. Others are awful, pretentious, narcissistic idiots who are offended on behalf of some while actively seeking to vilify and harm other segments of America (Christians, conservatives, military, etc.)

Some people subscribe to the crawfish in a bucket theory where you have to pull another down to get ahead. It's not enough to win. You have to tear your evil opponent down.
